Virginia M. Trimmer

YORK - Virginia (May) Trimmer, 86, of West Manchester Twp., died at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2007, at the Bel Air Health & Rehabilitation Center, Bel Air, MD. She was the wife of Rodney M. Trimmer who died January 22, 1990. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Rev. Bradley A. Brown, pastor of Zion United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Trimmer was born November 14, 1921, in York. She was the daughter of the late Howard D. and Esther E. (Reed) May. She retired on January 1, 1984 as a Floor Controller at York International after 19 years of service. She had been a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregation Church in York for many years and more recently had been attending Zion United Methodist Church. She was a 19M40 graduate of York High and was a member of the Shiloh Homemakers and the Dover Area AARP Chapter #3875. Mrs. Trimmer was a very active person who was always on the go. She enjoyed day trips and traveling. She also loved to entertain and enjoyed playing cards and other games as well as watching movies with her family and friends. She leaves her two sons, Michael N. Trimmer and wife, Donna, of Pittsburgh and Jeffrey R. Trimmer and wife, Liz, of Bel Air, MD; her two grandchildren, Jeffrey Rodney Trimmer, Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth Trimmer; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
