Virginia M. Johnson

RENOVO - Virginia M. Johnson, age 79, died at Williamsport Hospital on Friday, July 2, 2010. She was born in Renovo on Jan. 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Thomas and Myrtle (Smith) Vroman. Virginia was a devoted homemaker and also worked for a time as a waitress at the Y.M.C.A. She served as a den mother for the Cub Scouts and loved doing crafts, especially making porcelain dolls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Johnson, in March of 2004 and 3 brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her sons: James Michael(Okkyung) Johnson of Irving, Texas, Duane Alen (Martha) Johnson of Painted Post, N.Y., Thomas Earl (Tina) Johnson of Lock Haven, and Carl Edwin Johnson of Avis, daughters: Patricia Ann (Mark) Lewis of Dana, N. Carolina and Victoria Marie Lange of Avis. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a sister: Mary Tolomay of Renovo, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Maxwell Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Wagner officiating. Interment will be at North Bend Cemetery.
