LONGSTOWN- Virginia M. (Schnetzka) Hursh, 85, died on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Manor Care South. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Hursh, Jr., who died on November 17, 2012. The couple had been married for 64 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Butch Snyder officiating. A viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Stony Brook Mennonite Cemetery. Born on August 17, 1930 in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Ervin and Edith (Strickler) Schnetzka. Virginia worked at Snyder Cigar Factory for many years and recently was a homemaker. Mrs. Hursh was a member of Windsor U.M. Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Hursh is survived by one daughter, Linda Rexroth and her husband, Glenn of Dallastown; four grandchildren, J.R. Rexroth and his wife, Angie, Holly Wirt and her husband, Chris, Hilary Hursh and her husband, Patrick Baranski and Leslie Hursh; and four great grandchildren, Morgan Rexroth, Mia Rexroth, Damien Wirt and Julian Santiago. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Hursh; and two sisters, Delores Mundis and Thelma Bray. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
