Virginia G. Szitas

YORK- Virginia “Ginny” G. Szitas, 79, of Spring Garden Township, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at her residence.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 9-10 a.m. Certified Celebrant Allison Duke will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York.

Ginny was born in York on August 19, 1943, the daughter of the late Harmon Szitas and Virginia Smith. She owned and operated an arts and crafts wholesale business and was a licensed beautician. She was a hard worker and enjoyed shopping, especially finding items for family and friends. She enjoyed music and dancing, and a loyal donator to animal rescue and children’s health services.

Ginny leaves three sons, Catalino “Tony” Santiago and his wife Tina Kern of California, Angelo Santiago and his wife Marta of Manchester, and Gregory Szitas of Florida; and life partner Nestor Olivo. three daughters, Anita Santiago Taylor, of Kentucky, Maria Santiago Miller and her husband Randall of York; and Janine Szitas and fiancé Eric of York. She also leaves twelve grandchildren, Kristina Gail, Anthony, Angela, Jessica, Travis, Mitchell, Tristan, Kiana, Kaleb, Brandon, Tricia Gail, Edward (E.J.) Twelve great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. She was also blessed with many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Walter and a brother, Lind Walter..
