Virginia F. (Mccafferty) Hutchinson

WILLIAMSPORT - Virginia F. (McCafferty) Hutchinson, 76, died on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the Williamsport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas E. Hutchinson who had died on December 7, 2002. Virginia was born on January 10, 1932 in Williamsport and was a daughter of the late Francis E. and Edith R. (Morrison) McCafferty. She had retired after 18 years service with the Divine Providence Hospital as a housekeeper. She was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Williamsport. Virginia is survived by one daughter; Colleen M. Rook of Williamsport, two grandchildren; Steven Shannon of Scranton and Michael A. Rook of Williamsport, two great grandchildren; Tyler Thomas Shannon and Brianna Nicole Barger, both of Williamsport, and two sisters; Mary V. Connacher and Evelyn R. Williams, both of Williamsport. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; Edward J. McCafferty and one sister; Ida Mae Connacher. A mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Annunciation Catholic Church, 701 West Fourth St., Williamsport with Father John K. Manno as celebrant. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. In keeping with Virginia's wishes, there will be no public viewing. Arrangements are being handled by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport.
