Virginia (Barnes) Ganunis

Virginia Ganunis, 86, of Pottsville, died on Sunday evening at her home. Born in Pottsville on May 14, 1921, she was a daughter of the late George and Virginia Ryan Barnes. She was married to the late Ralph Ganunis, who died Feb 15, 1981. Surviving Virginia are: a daughter, Jeanette Schwartz, of Pottsville; three sons, Donald Schwartz, of Gap, PA, Celester Schwartz, of Clarksville TN and Ralph Ganunis, of Higgins; grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters. Virginia was the last member of her generation in her family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & W. Market St. Pottsville. Pastor Brian Reading will officiate. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Peach Mountain.
