Virgina M. (Senft) Gibbs

YorkVirginia M. (Senft) Gibbs, 85, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Manor Care Health Services-Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late C. Fred Gibbs Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 pm, Monday, January 31, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church, 29 S. George Street, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Patrick J. Rooney officiating. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Greenmount Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born June 8, 1925 in North York Borough, she was a daughter of the late Alton E. and Olive M. (Arnold) Senft. She was employed at Georges Stationary Store as a clerk for 16 years and later worked for local Hallmark Stores and Crones Coins in York. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in York, enjoyed playing cards with her card club and was an avid Penn State Football fan. Mrs. Gibbs is survived by a son, Gregory A. Gibbs and his wife, Joanne of York, step-son, C. Fred Gibbs Jr., of CO, and two step-granddaughters, Carolyn Nalezny and Karen Warren, both of CO. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army, 50 E. King Street, York, Pa 17401.
