Virday Jane Brown

WILLIAMSPORT - Virday Jane Brown, 67, died on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at The Gatehouse. Virday was born in Williamsport on April 21, 1947 and was the daughter of Virday I. (Brown) Brown of Williamsport and the late Albert W. Brown. She had graduated from Williamsport Area High School. She worked at Textron from 1976 – 2013, retiring after 37 years of service. She was raised attending Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was a member of the Local 787 Union. Virday enjoyed bingo, crocheting and spending time with her family. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons; Lamar A. Brown and Justin R. Brown, both of Williamsport, six grandchildren; Levi Brown, Ayden Brown, Kamden Brown and Justin Brown, Jr. and Isaiah Keyes and Elijah Keyes, one brother; George “Tony” Brown of Williamsport, three sisters; Alverda Wollett and husband Vernon of Liberty, Shirley Cottom of Houston, TX and Mary Ann Walker of BelAir, MD and two foster sisters; Rosemary Taylor of Williamsport and Cordie Robinson of Harrisburg. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Tonya Lee Brown and Georgia M. Brown and one foster sister; Lucy Brown. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport where the memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Minister Janice Sapp will officiate the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
