Violetta B. (Topper) Troup

DOVER - Violetta B. (Topper) Troup, 87, of Newberry Township, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 19, 2012 at her home. She was the beloved and faithful wife of the late Preston Troup, Sr. Greatly loved by her family, she is survived by children: Preston Troup,Jr., Shirley (Rodney) Fink, Darlene (the late Garry) Wintermyer, Helen (Clair) Hollerbush, Donna (Donald) Gardner, Carolyn (Ray) Sprague, Richard (Dolores) Troup, Cathy (Lonnie) Anderson, Jeanne (Stanley) Weister, Debra (Russel) Seibert, Bonnie (Jeffrey) Gill, and Kenneth (Cindy) Troup. Violetta was preceded in death by daughters, Virginia Slaseman and Linda Dravk and leaves sons-in-law William Slaseman and John Dravk. She has also been blessed with 41 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren. Violetta enjoyed bingo, bowling, church and was a wiz at Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, but her true happiness was the many days spent with her family visiting at her home, laughing and drinking coffee, enjoying one another’s company. She was a member of the James F. Danner post 537 Ladies Auxiliary and Red Land Valley Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Red Land Valley Brethren in Christ Church, 3555 Lewisberry Rd., York Haven, PA 17370. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Red Land Valley Brethren in Christ Church, 3555 Lewisberry Rd., in York Haven (Newberry Township). Pastor Brian Willison will be officiating at the service. A viewing will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Emmanuel Cemetery in Lewisberry. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 West Front Street in Lewisberry is in charge of the arrangements.
