Violet May (Sole) Kanour

NEW COLUMBIA - Violet May (Sole) Kanour, 50, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her residence. She was born on March 28, 1967 in West Chester and was the daughter of William W. Sole and Mary E. (Bannon) Nettles. Violet was a graduate of Twin Valley High School class of 1985. She worked as a manager for Toys-R-Us. Violet attended the St. John’s United Church of Christ, New Columbia, she was a member of the Milton V.F.W., Milton Eagles Club, the Order of Eastern Star as a worthy advisor and the rainbow girls. Violet was a very artistic person and she enjoyed drawing, poetry and writing she also enjoyed traveling, crocheting, playing pool, puzzles, listening to country music and playing her guitar and harmonica. In addition to her parents; Violet is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Dury John and Trisha Martin, Jr. of Sugarloaf, two daughters; Cassandra L. Martin of New Columbia and Angel T. Meyers of Coatsville, four brothers and sisters-in-law; Woodrow W. and Leah Sole of Belleview, Harry R. and Heather Kelley of Linden, Eric C. and Shannon Kelley of Mill Hall and Daniel M. and Lauren Fultz of Sullivan, IL and one sister and brother-in-law; Celissa M. and Jason McCauley of Lock Haven and her significant other; Sheldon Laylon, III of New Columbia. Violet was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Woodrow W. Sole and Catherine Warden, her maternal grandparents; Earnest H. and Isabelle (Andress) Bannon and one aunt; Virginia Ann Greiner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral costs. A public viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 North Front Street, Milton and again from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the funeral home followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m. with pastor Bonnie of St. John’s United Church of Christ, New Columbia officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
