Viola M. (Reichard) Kauffman

YORK- Viola M. (Reichard) Kauffman, 86, formerly of the New Bridgeville area, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Country Meadows @ Leader Heights. She was the wife of the late Paul P. Kauffman. The couple was married for 49 years when Paul passed away. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and 9-10 a.m. on Saturday. Pastor Patricia C. Bollinger will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Shenberger's Chapel Cemetery in New Bridgeville. Mrs. Kauffman was born in Lower Windsor Township on December 3, 1923, a daughter of the late Abner and Edna (Olphin) Reichard. She worked as a seamstress in various sewing factories in the Red Lion area. Mrs. Kauffman was a member of Shenberger's Chapel U.M. Church in New Bridgeville, where she was involved with Bible Studies, Widow's Clubs, and other church functions. She was a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, especially Sunday family gatherings and also enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Kauffman leaves four sons, Palmer P. Kauffman, Sr., of Thomasville, Perry P. Kauffman of Delta, Philip P, Kauffman, Sr., of Craley, and Porter P. Kauffman of Delta; two daughters, Joyce Y. Morgan of New Bridgeville and Joanne M. Horn of Stevensville, MT; 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Preston P. Kauffman, a sister Hester Wagner of Florida; and two brothers, Ralph and Henry Reichard. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
