NEW FREEDOM - Victor L. Dodson, Sr., 73, died on Tuesday, September 16, 2015 at his residence surrounded by family. He was the husband of Ruth H. (Fletcher) Dodson. The couple wed on December 24, 1977. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Lanny Kilgore officiating. A viewing will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Born on August 29, 1942 in Timonium, MD, he was a son of the late Ellis and Florence (Wilhem) Dodson. Victor was the owner and operator of Vic’s Body Shop & Towing. He also worked at several other dealerships and auto body shops over the years. Mr. Dodson attended New Covenant Community Church and more recently volunteered at Summit Grove Christian Camp in New Freedom. Victor loved landscaping and working in his flower beds. He was a car enthusiast who enjoyed restoring classic vehicles and hot rods. Victor enjoyed boating and traveling to Florida by motorhome. He also had a passion for Fox News and loved Ronald Regan. Along with his wife, Ruth, Victor is survived by one son, Victor Dodson, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of East Prospect; three daughters, Diana Dodson of Charlottesville, VA, Michelle Schroers of Chesterfield, VA and Amanda Beatty and her husband, Joe of New Freedom; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Dodson; and stepfather, William Rupprecht.
