Victor A. Bierkamp

York—Victor A. Bierkamp, 97, died Friday, April 16, 2010 at Manor Care Health Services-South. He was the husband of the late Emilie E. (Allison) Bierkamp, to whom he was married for 69 years. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bierkamp was born March 9, 1913 in Moorefield, W. Va. He was a son of the late Cleland W. and Ada F. (Bowman) Bierkamp. He retired from St. Regis Paper Company, after 45 years of employment and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in York for 83 years. He was also a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. Mr. Bierkamp is survived by a sister, A. Elaine Plitt of York, a niece, Phyllis Jean Miller of Dover and a nephew, John W. Plitt Sr., of York. He was preceded in death by a brother, Brooke Bierkamp. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, C/O Children's Ministry, 11 N.
