Veronica Clemas

Veronica Clemas POTTSVILLE-Veronica Clemas, 82, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. Born in Kulpmont, on October 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Sinkovich. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. Veronica owned and operated the former Blue and Gold restaurant in Schuylkill Haven for several years. She was a member of the Jackson St. School PTA, Pottsville, having served on various committees. She was a clerk at Albo's and the Sunoco A-Plus Mini Market, Pottsville. She was a majority inspector of elections at the Phoenix Fire Company, first ward, Pottsville, for 30 years. She was also a crossing guard for the Pottsville Area School District at East Norwegian and George Sts. for over 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. Clemas, who died Oct. 21, 1983; her three brothers, Myron, Stanley and John Sinkovich; her sister, Olga Seador. She is survived by her two sons Edward M. Clemas, husband of Bonnie, of Pottsville and Joseph Clemas, husband of Clair, of Orwigsburg; her two daughters, Patricia Gerenda, widow of the late Michael Gerenda, of Bristol, PA and Sylvia Nabholz, widow of the late Robert Nabholz, of Lake Wynonah; her brother, Frank Sinkovich, of Bridgeport, CT; her sister, Sophie Kuchta, of Minersville; her 9 Grandchildren, Michelle Carr, Michael Gerenda, Ashley Clemas, Trisha Clemas, Kristin Clemas, Cheryl Nabholz-Knehans, Robert Nabholz, Christa Bartashus and Jospeh Clemas; her 11 Great Grandchildren; her Great- Great Granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family would prefer memorial contributions be made to the Hillside SPCA, Hillside Road, Pottsville, PA 17901.
