Verna T. Kieller

YORK- Verna Kieller went to with her sweet Savior on February 8, 2008. She died with dignity and peace with her family at her bedside. Verna was born on October 18, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan. She married Stanley T. Kieller on August 28, 1938 and was married for 69 years before her beloved husband preceded her in death. Verna and Stanley moved from Detroit to Dearborn, Michigan to begin the private schooling of their children. Verna and her husband later relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. Her overwhelming love and primary goals in life were the upbringing and education of her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first daughter, Lenore. She is survived by four sisters, Dorothy, Annie, Irene and Helen and one brother, Walter, all residing in Michigan. Verna is also survived by her son, Stanley T. Kieller, an Engineer, and his wife, Joann from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; her daughter, Kathryn Rogers, a Registered Nurse, and her husband, Robert from Tyler, Texas; her daughter, Veronica, a Registered Nurse, and her husband, John from The Villages, Florida, and her daughter, Barbara, a Dental Hygienist, and her husband, Brad from Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Verna worked at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland for 13 years as a Patient Representative, where she gained the admiration and respect of not only her fellow co-workers, but also from the multitude of patients whose lives she touched. Her life was religiously based as she made rosaries for the missions, was involved in the Family Christian Movement and continuously set an example of her Catholic faith to everyone with whom she came in contact with. She was a teacher and a counselor to her children and her grandchildren and had the ability to touch other lives, which in turn touched even more lives and therefore the future of all involved were shaped with love. Services are scheduled today, February 10, 2008 at 1 to 3:00 p.m. at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. Interment will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA next to her beloved husband. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the dedicated staff of Ascera Care Hospice and Normandie Ridge. They would also like to thank the many wonderful friends who have provided kindness, support and love to our Mother. We will miss her, but her memory and life to thank our Mother for always being there for us and lighting our paths with love. Take a deep breath Mom, you're home now.
