Verna Ann Sutton

YORK-Verna A. Sutton, 65 of York, PA Passed peacefully on August 7, 2020. Verna was born on December 4, 1954 in Phoenix AZ to the late Anna and Vernon Sutton. She loved God and her family. Verna loved to play organ and piano at two churches in York. She worked at Memorial Hospital for several years. Verna was preceded in death by her sister Connie Stevens and is survived by her siblings, Linda Koehlmoos, Beverly Harmon, and Pamela Steiner, and Christopher Sutton. She has several nieces and nephews. Verna is also remembered lovingly by her close friend Amanda Keister and her children. Ms. Sutton Was an organist at Violet Hill United Methodist Church and Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, both in York. She had participated in Relay For Life at the York Fairgrounds. She was a graduate of Canyon College in Phoenix, Arizona, where she received her Bachelor's in Music Education Degree. Ms. Sutton’s Service will be private at the request of the family. She will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix, AZ In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Four Diamonds Fund.
