Vera L. (Probst) Laubscher

LOCK HAVEN - Vera L. “Cubby” (Probst) Laubscher, 97, of Swissdale passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at The Gatehouse. She was born February 7, 1918 in East Renovo a daughter of the late Samuel W. and Annie L. (Probst) Probst. Vera was married on May 1, 1937 to Nevin K. Laubscher, Sr. who died February 6, 1989. She worked for the Buffalo Inn, Woolrich and retired from Piper Aircraft after 25 years. Vera was a member of the Swissdale United Methodist Church and was the oldest living member. She was a 1936 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and adored her cats. Vera loved the Lord. Surviving are one daughter Margaret Miller of Dunnstown, five sons Nevin (Rosie) Laubscher, Jr., Stephen (Vickie) Laubscher, Harry (Regina) Laubscher all of Lock Haven and Samuel (Pam) Laubscher of Howard. Five grandchildren. One step-grandson, seven great grandchildren and one step-great grandson.Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. She was preceded in death by a step-mother Clara Probst. two brothers Dean Probst, Norman Probst and Miriam Miller. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with the Rev. Roger Yoder officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Swissdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Swissdale U.M.
