Velma Margaret (Kraft) Arvin

YORK- Velma Margaret (Kraft) Arvin, 86, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at The Haven at Springwood. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Aaron J. Kunce officiating. A visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Freysville Cemetery. Born on February 7, 1930 in Windsor Twp., she was a daughter of the late Curvin and Flora (Howard) Kraft. Velma worked for Standard Register for over 30 years until her retirement. Velma enjoyed working in her flower beds, her pets and spending time with her grandchildren. Ms. Arvin is survived by one son, Jon Arvin and wife, Linda of Red Lion; two daughters, Janina Blake and husband, Lawrence of New Freedom and Janda Wright of Red Lion; and five grandchildren, Kevin Strasbaugh and wife, Paige of Pittsburgh, Kari Strasbaugh of Dallastown, Erin Wright of Lehigh Valley, Katherine Arvin of York and Andrea Arvin of York. She was preceded in death by a son, James Horn; one brother, Curvin Kraft; and five sisters, Helen Myers, Evelyn Damey, Mary Campbell, Mae Hollerbush and Hester Yura.
