Wellsburg, NY - Velicia Susan (Casselbury) Comfort, Age 41, was granted her angel wings on January 6, 2010 when she unexpectedly passed away at home, in the loving arms of her soul mate and husband Steven and their precious daughter McKenna. She was born to Gail (Casselbury) Farnham on January 4, 1969 in Sayre, PA to whom she was not just a daughter, but also her best friend and confidant. Velicia graduated from Waverly High School in 1987 and was employed by J.A. Travers in Elmira for several years. John & Joan Travers have remained special family friends throughout the years. She most enjoyed her current job, working with the mentally and physically challenged at Martha Lloyd Community Services in Troy, PA, where she received several awards for her loving dedication to the clients during the past 7 ½ years. She is remembered by her co-workers for her fun loving attitude and silly practical jokes. Velicia cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them enjoying the outdoors and nature. They rode go-carts and took wildlife photos. She loved putting puzzles together with McKenna and was an avid reader. She is survived by her mother Gail Farnham of Waverly, NY, husband, Steve and daughter McKenna of Gillett, PA, her brother, Raymond Casselbury, Jr. and his children, Allison Casselbury and Joshua Jones, Raymond's fianc裠Jenifer Poole and her son Jason, two step-daughters & sons-in-law, Alyssa & Lucas Anthony of Waverly, Krista & Tim Baker of Millerton, PA, mother and father-in-law, Lynn & Grace Comfort of Corryton, TN. Velicia was especially proud to be called "Grandma" by her four grandchildren, Nehemiah, Loralye, Audrianna and Braydin. Other survivors include her best friend, Terri & Jim Mott of Gillett, special friends, Sherry Engel of Roaring Branch, PA, Deanna Leighton of Canton, PA, Joana Everly of Chemung, NY, brothers & sisters-in-law, Lynda & Dan Homet, Sandra & Kendall Marine and Thomas Comfort, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to call from 12 to 2 PM Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Velicia's funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2 PM with Pastor Rob Wuethrich of the Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park. Luthers Mills, PA.
