Vasilios J. Zahos

YORK- Vasilios J. Zahos, 82, died on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Vasiliki V. (Mazias) Zahos, to whom he was married for 58 years. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Pine Grove Rd., York with his Priest, Father Andrew Tsikitas officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on February 8, 1934 in Neohorion, Nafpaktias, Greece, he was a son of the late Ioannis and Lambrine (Alpogiannis) Zahos. Vasilios worked at Harley Davidson for over 25 years until his retirement. Mr. Zahos was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. In his spare time, Vasilios enjoyed gardening and taking care of his fig trees. Along with his wife, Vasiliki, Vasilios is survived by one son, John Zahos and wife, Tessie of Carlisle; two daughters, Lambrine Katsifis and husband, Nick of Carlisle and Joanne Panagos and husband, Perry of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, George, Maria, Billy, Vicki, Nicole and Penny; four sisters, Ekaterini Masgalas and husband, Demetrios of York, Spirdoula Branis and husband, Nikolaos of Greece, Aglaia Tsogas of York and Sitiria Lamnatos and husband, Eleftherios of York; one aunt, Haido Zahos of York; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Demetrios Zahos; one sister, Anastasia Lainas; and two brothers in law, Efstratios Tsogis and Demetrios Lainas.
