POTTSVILLE - Valentine A. “Wally” Davenport, 84, of Pottsville, died Tuesday morning at ManorCare Health Services, Pottsville. Born in Orwigsburg on November 20, 1926, he was a son of the late Margaret Schleer. Wally served his country in the Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Until retiring, he worked for Parrish Steel. On March 20, 1977, he married the former Doris Bressler, who survives. Wally was well known for his cowboy hat. He loved listening to country music and also played in a band. Funeral services will be private, with interment at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville is handling the arrangements.
