Vadys (Reeser) Thomas

TROY- Vadys (Reeser) Thomas, 92, of Troy, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the Sylvan Ridge Personal Care Home. She was the wife of William Alonzo "Lonnie" Thomas who passed away on February 28, 2008. The couple married on June 1, 1935 and had 72 years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday August 11, 2008 and again on Tuesday morning, August 12th from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. A tribute service to honor Vadys' life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Jasper Smith, retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will follow the service in Wetona Cemetery. Vadys was born on October 21, 1915 in Berrytown, PA. She was the daughter of the late Archie Ross and Ada (Roesner) Reeser. She was a homemaker, avid gardener, and loved cats. Vadys is survived by her son Lowell A. (Barbara) Thomas, Sr. of Hamburg, PA, her grandchildren: Lowell A. Thomas, Jr. of Troy, PA, Lara A. Thomas of Leesport, PA, Christopher W. (Crystal) Thomas of Shillington, PA, and Zachary W. Thomas of Leesport, PA, great grandchildren: Kimberly Thomas, Micah Thomas, and Bronwyn Thomas, and sister Ruth Jelliff of Bentley Creek, PA. Vadys was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lonnie.
