Vada I. (Riedel) Frey

DALLASTOWN- Vada I. (Riedel) Frey, 82 died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Victorian Villa in Dallastown. She was the wife of Robert E. “Bim” Frey, Sr. The couple celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on June 28, 2010. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 E. Main Street in Dallastown. The Reverend Carl B. Rife and The Reverend Ronald Bowersox will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. Mrs. Frey was born on January 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Cora A. (Fix) Riedel. She was a 1946 graduate of Dallastown High School. She retired in 1991 after 31 years as a Secretary at Ore Valley Elementary School in Dallastown. Mrs. Frey was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown for nearly 70 years and a member of Syncopation Dance Club. She loved cooking large meals for her family to whom she was devoted, giving and generous which were all characteristics of her personality. She was born and lived in Dallastown all 82 years of her life. She took up golf at age 60 and loved it. She loved gardening, bowling, bird watching, squirrel feeding, dogs and cats and leaves her cat Tilly. She appreciated the loving care and relationships of the assisted living staff at Victorian Villa. Along with her husband Bim, Mrs. Frey leaves a son, Robert E. Frey, Jr. and his wife Rebecca, of Harrisburg; a daughter, Dawn E. Frey and friend, Deborah Hershey of Emmaus; three grandchildren, Emily Nixon and husband, Jonathan, Jacob Frey and wife, LoriBeth, and Abigail Figueroa and husband, Mark; four great grandchildren, Natalie, Gavin, Annabelle, and Henry; and a brother, Lewis R. Riedel of Dallastown. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark E. Frey, four brothers and a sister. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 E.
