Tressa Mae (Brown) Smith

RED LION – Tressa Mae (Brown) Smith, 71, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at York Hospital. She was the wife of John J. Smith, Sr. to whom she was married for 53 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Community Cemetery. Born March 27, 1942 in Red Lion, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Lucie J. (Sechrist) Brown, she worked for House of Windsor Cigar Co. and later retired from AutoKraft Box Corp. Mrs. Smith enjoyed going for walks, picnicking, and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Smith is survived by a son, John J. Smith, Jr. of Airville; a daughter, Joyce M. Lake of York; five grandchildren, Kyle J. and Pamela M. Smith, and John, Misty, and Corena Lake; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Brown of Dover and Claudie Brown of Wrightsville; and a sister, Betty Witmer of York. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Troy Lake; and eight brothers, Wayne, Arthur, Joseph, and Donald Warner, and Charlie, George, Ray, and John Brown.
