Treaver Harry Digan, Jr.

MUNCY - Treaver Harry Digan, Jr., 83, died on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the Grandview Health Homes, Danville, PA. Treaver was born on November 20, 1926 in Delaware Twp. and was the son of the late Treaver H. and Lillian (Smith) Digan, Sr.. He was married to the late Irene K. (Meese) Digan who had died in 1990 and had celebrated 44 years as husband and wife. Treaver was a veteran of the US Navy and served during WWII as a Seaman First Class. He received the American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal. He was a former salesman and then retired from TRW after 10 years service. He was an avid Bluegrass banjo player and had played with various bands over the years. Treaver was a member of the American Legion, Danville and enjoyed fishing and traveling to Florida in the winter in his RV. Treaver is survived by one son; Treaver H. "Terry" Digan, III of Hummels Wharf, one daughter and son-in-law; Sherry M. and David W. Barnhart of Northumberland, three brothers; Wayne Digan of Williamsport, Ermin Digan of Muncy and Kay Digan of South Williamsport and one sister; Urnava Smith of Cogan Station. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson; John T. Eister, four brothers; Arlen, Elvin, Ellena and Vana and two sisters; Bervena Huff and Dutty Dixson. There will be a gathering of friends and family from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton, PA 17847 with the memorial service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Charles Kindleman will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sun Home Health Hospice, P.O. Box 232, Northumberland, PA 17857-0232.
