Titus C. “Jack” Waltemyer Sr., 92, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at his residence in Felton Borough. He was the husband of E. Imelda (Sheridan) Waltemyer to whom he was married for 71 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with his pastor, the Rev. Timothy Funk and Chaplain Patricia Krauss officiating. A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born February 8, 1925 in Winterstown, he was a son of the late Elmer C. and Esther (Johnson) Waltemyer. He was a skilled and hard working brick mason. Over his career he was employed with Harold Hogg Construction, John Gross and retired from York Hospital. Before taking up his trade as a mason, he worked as a farmer. A member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Red Lion, he was an avid gardener, loved being outside surrounded by nature, enjoyed fishing, raised chickens, rabbits, pigeons and beagle pups. He could build anything and above all else he loved and treasured time with his wife and family. Mr. Waltemyer is also survived by one son, Titus C. “Jackie” Waltemyer Jr., of Felton; three daughters, Sherry L. Urey and husband, Carl of Felton, Vickie I. Urey and husband, Gary of Windsor and Amy J. Anderson and husband Jonathan of Red Lion; seven grandchildren, Tammy Runkle, Ryan Urey, Carla Wolski, Jamie Horton, Gary Urey Jr., Jack Anderson, Jovie Anderson; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Waltemyer and Virginia Sheridan and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kortnee Urey and three brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, Pa 17604 or St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave., Red Lion, Pa 17356. Mrs. Waltemyer and her family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Hospice & Community Care and Almost Heavenly Home Care for all their support and care.
