Timothy P. Emig

YORK – Timothy Peter Emig, 73, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at his home. He was the husband of Lonna R. (Gotwalt) Emig to whom he was married for 53 years.


Visitation will be held from 1-2:30 PM Friday, January 5, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. The family asks that during this time, you share stories of Tim’s life. Masonic Rites will be provided by York Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons at 2:30 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Tribute Service with Certified Celebrant Allison Duke officiating. Prayers will be read by Ben Shuey. Full Military Honors will be presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard.


Born July 12, 1950 in York, Timothy was a son of the late Henry I. and Naomi J. (Hoffman) Emig. Tim was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School in 1968. Tim proudly serviced his country as a United States Marine, during his time in Vietnam 1969-1970, he was Company Radioman with 3rd Platoon, Delta 1/5 and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V for Valor.


For most of his working life, Mr. Emig worked for Borg Warner/York International, he was a welder by trade and then became Health and Safety Manager for the York Plant. Outside of work, he was a member of the York County Corvette Club, York F&AM Lodge 266, Scottish Rite of Harrisburg, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, United Brotherhood of the Elks, Vikings Club, Rooster Club, West York VFW, American Legion in Shiloh, and UAW Local 1872. In his free time, Tim enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, softball, as well as umpiring softball in his younger days. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fly fishing.


In addition to his wife, Lonna, Mr. Emig is survived by his two children, Mark H. Emig and his wife Karen and Leslie R. Rojahn and her husband Tim; three grandchildren, Riley, Tyler and Dylan; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Louie. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael H. Emig. Tim is remembered for having a big heart and loving his family and friends.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Tunnels to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306, where he donated often.
