Timothy M. Kamberger

Timothy M. Kamberger, 50, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 in York, Pennsylvania after a long battle with Lyme disease. Tim was born on December 28, 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland to Lawrence Edward “Ed” Kamberger Sr. and Lois (Ruppert) Kamberger, and was raised in Harford County, Maryland. He was a 1989 graduate of Edgewood High School, and received an Associate’s degree from the Community College of Baltimore County, a Bachelor’s degree from University of Phoenix, and a Master’s from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Tim worked most recently as Corporate Safety Director for Armada Hoffler Construction in Virginia Beach. He previously held safety director positions at several other companies in the Hampton Roads area. Tim had a heart for serving others, and was always willing to go out of his way to help a friend, family member, or even strangers in need. Tim joined Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department at the age of sixteen, eventually becoming a captain and a full paramedic. He later served as firefighter/medic in the Lansdowne Md., Indiana Pa., and Fox Hill (Hampton Va.) fire departments, and he particularly enjoyed working as a paramedic at Baltimore Ravens games. In addition, Tim's travels took him to New Orleans for several weeks after Hurricane Katrina to help with relief efforts, and to China to minister to orphans there. Tim was fun, fun-loving, and funny. Prior to his illness, he could always be counted on to make people laugh, and was known to his many beloved nieces and nephews as the Fun Uncle. He loved to take them for rides on his boat, jet ski, or Harley, and visitors to his house near the beach could look forward to being treated to a good time. He was devoted to and adored by his family. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Ed and Julia Kamberger of Forest Hill, Maryland; brother Ed Kamberger of York, Pa.; brother John (Mary) Kamberger of Clear Lake, Iowa; sister Sheridan (Brad) Currie of Kettering, Ohio; sister-in-law Dawn Kamberger of York, Pa.; and fifteen nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, and his grandparents Charles and Ethel Kamberger and William and Lola “Dane” Ruppert. Donations in Tim’s memory may be made to Global Lyme Alliance, 1290 E. Main St., 3rd Floor, Stamford, CT 06902, or at globallymealliance.org. A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date. CLICK HERE TO SEND FLOWERS
