RED LION - Timothy J. Gulley, 49, went on to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. He was the husband of Trinda S. (Klunk) Gulley to whom he would have been married 25 years on June 8, 2010. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 1, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown, PA. Visitations will be held from 6-9:00 PM Friday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 1-2:00 PM Saturday at the Church. Private burial will be held in Windsor Cemetery. Born April 17, 1961 in Rochester, PA a son of Gerald L. Gulley, Sr. of Monaca, PA and the late Marcella J. (Hurray) Gulley, he graduated from Monaca High School in 1979, earned his bachelor's degree in 1984 from Penn State University, and received his Masters degree in 1997 at Western Maryland College. Mr. Gulley was the Principal at Windsor Manor Elementary School in the Red Lion Area School District for the past 12 years. Prior to serving as principal, he was a sixth grade teacher at Mazie Gable Elementary School and fifth grade teacher at Edgar Moore Elementary School, both in the Red Lion School District. He had also previously taught fourth grade at St. Joseph Catholic School in York. Mr. Gulley was known for the many acts of generosity and kindness that he showed to his students and their families. He could always be found giving of himself in order to make someone else's life better. His education affiliations include, National Assoc. of Elementary Principals, Phi Delta Kappa Professional Education Assoc., PA School Board Assoc., and PA State Education Association. Mr. Gulley was a licensed PIAA basketball official and loved refereeing these basketball games. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan and spent more than 20 years volunteering his time coaching a variety of athletic teams in the Red Lion area. Tim was a member of Windsor Lions Club, Windsor Fish and Game, and the former York Moose Lodge. He enjoyed collecting action figures, loved spending time with his family at Sanibel Island, FL and Rehoboth Beach, and traveling to New York City where he could always find a deal. In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Gulley is survived by a son, Timothy D. Gulley of Red Lion; a daughter, Sarah A. Gulley of Red Lion; four brothers, Gerald L. Gulley, Jr. and wife Sheila Gulley and Richard J. and wife April Gulley both of Newark, OH, Robert A. Gulley of Womelsdorf, PA, and Gregory E. and wife Kelly Gulley of Windsor; a sister, Melissa A. and husband Robert Beckman of Monaca; a brother in law, Tod and wife Tara Klunk of Felton; his father and mother in law, David L. and Mary E. Klunk of Red Lion; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made payable to the Red Lion Area Educational Foundation for a scholarship that is being established in the name of Timothy J. Gulley. Checks should be sent to the Red Lion Area Education Center, 696 Delta Road, Red Lion, PA 17356 with a note designating that the contribution is to be directed to the Timothy J. Gulley Scholarship.
