YORK- Timothy A. Bailey, 30, passed away January 1, 2009 at Manor Care Health Services-South after a two and a half month battle with cancer. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with the Rev Norman E. "Skip" Spangler of Otterbein United Methodist Church in York officiating. A viewing will be held from 12-2:00 PM Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born November 27, 1978 in York, he was the youngest child of Thomas A. and Darlene A. (Chappell) Bailey of York. Tim was the proud father of two year old Katlynn Marie Norris "Daddy's little girl" of York. He is also survived by one sister, Deborah L. (Bailey) and her husband Todd Rutter, and their sons Kyle and Adam; one brother Thomas A. Bailey III and his daughter Elizabeth; a maternal grandmother, Mildred E. Chappell; a paternal grandfather Thomas Bailey of Osterville, MA; and aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Tim was also blessed with many loyal friends who stood by him in the good times and the bad. He attended York Catholic High School and graduated from York County High School in 1997. Prior to his diagnosis Tim was employed at First Capital Fibers through Staffing Specialists of York. In his free time, Tim enjoyed spending time with his daughter and watching her grow. Affectionately known by friends as "Timmy" he liked to talk, laugh, and have a good time building friendships. He actively attended meetings, was a friend of Bill W., and was always willing to lend a hand to someone else in need. People who know him will remember him as a kind, funny, hard working, caring individual and his death will be a noticeable loss. Tim liked to ski, enjoyed listening to music, and was a York Revolution fan. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Cancer Center Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Dr., Suite 194, York, PA 17403. Please indicate the donation is being made in memory of Tim.
