Tillie Rose Kashalonis

POTTSVILLE- Tillie Rose Kashalonis, 104, formerly of Gilberton, passed away peacefully Friday morning at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Joseph Palamar, by her side. Born in Shenandoah on April 11, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Elsie Horzemea Romanek. She was employed in the garment industry most of her life. Tillie was a member of Saint Casimir’s Church, Shenandoah. Tillie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kashalonis, who passed away October 10, 1961; her four brothers, Walter, Joseph , Charles and Stanley Romanek; her two sisters, Victoria Romanek and Lottie Stensky; her great grandson, Zachery Giuliano. Tillie is survived by her two daughters, Marie Giuliano, of Caldwell, NJ and Joanne Palamar, wife of Joseph, of Pottsville, who were Tillie’s caregivers for many years; three Grandchildren; her 9 Great Grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be held in Saint Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be sent to bestlifetributes.com.
