YORK- All the angels in heaven are blowing their trumpets and rejoicing. Thomas Roger McGlynn, 74, has completed his journey here on earth, on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 and has entered into the great and mighty eternal kingdom of our Lord. He was the husband of Judith Ann (Davidson)McGlynn for 56 yrs. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Rd, York, PA 17403 with the Reverend Jay M. Derk officiating. Viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York and from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at church. Born April 27, 1940, he was a son of the late Roger McGlynn and mother Ruth, and step mother Norma, of Bath, NY. Thomas graduated from Savona Central High School and Alfred State College. There would never be enough space or time or words to describe or explain his life. He was loved by everyone that ever met him. Thomas was an internal and external optimist. Everything he thought and everything he did had a loving and positive effect on everyone and everything around him. His wife called him, “Mr. Sunshine”. Everywhere he went the sun would shine! Thomas dedicated his entire life to serving and caring for others. He dedicated his time and energy to Agway Petroleum for over 47 years of service. He belonged to and dedicated his time to Optimist International for over 36 years of service. He attended and dedicated his time to Aldersgate United Methodist for over 30 years of service. He was a lifetime member and volunteer of the Lincolnway Fire Co. Along with his wife, Judy, Thomas is survived by one son, Brian T. (Heather)McGlynn ; two daughters, Brenda L. (Keith)Mulay-Hake and Barbara A. McGlynn-Walters; 11 grandchildren, Leslie, Heather, Sean, Katie, Brian, Falyn, Crystal (Travis), James III, Thomas, Elizabeth and Lauren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene (Jan) McGlynn; one sister, Carol(Ed) Bonicave; and loving in laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long time friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed McGlynn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Rd, York, PA 17403 or charity of your choice.
