Thomas P. Zaharis November 14, 1920-May 29, 2009 Pottsville-Thomas P. Zaharis, 88, of Pottsville died Friday morning at the Schuylkill Medical Center South Jackson Street, Pottsville, PA. Divine Liturgy services will be conducted on Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. at the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Street, Pottsville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 4:00 P.M. till time of services. Interment will be at the Charles Baber Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Mr. Zaharis was born in Minersville, PA, November 14, 1920, the son of the late Peter P. and Stavrula Hantzes and his step mother Mary Svindarikes. He attended Minersville Schools. Mr. Zaharis was a cook by profession and owned and operated the former T & F Dinner of Pottsville, plus he owned and operated Pop's Arcade, King Plaza, Minersville. Mr. Zaharis was a member of Saint Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Reading. Mr. Zaharis is preceded in death by a brother Harry Zaharis and a sister Irene Laskarides. Surviving is his wife of 65 years Frances "Logothetides", Pottsville, a son William P., husband of Patricia Zaharis, Pottsville, a daughter Nikki Kosmos, and her companion Clint Matthews, Ontario, Canada; five grandchildren Jennifer, wife of John Andruchek; William T., husband of Jacqueline Zaharis; Kristin Zaharis; Markus Kosmos; Nicole KosmosIanni, and husband Nando; four great grandchildren Skylar, Connor, Ryan Andruchek, and Zachary Zaharis, three brothers Wilson, husband of Mary Louise Zaharis, and George, husband of Pauline Zaharis both of Saint Clair, and Peter, husband of Sharon Zaharis, Minersville, PA, several nieces and nephews.
