Thomas L. Engleman, Sr.

WEST MILTON - Thomas L. Engleman, Sr., 95, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg. He was born in Milton on July 22, 1918 and was the son of the late Merrill F. and Blanche V. (Gallagher) Engleman. Thomas married the former Cora (Wands) in 1940 and they celebrated 25 years of marriage together until her death on May 24, 1965. He then married the former Mary E. (Lesher) on July 31, 1967 who survives, and they celebrated 46 years of marriage together. He attended Milton High School. Thomas served in the United States Army during WWII, and received a Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon and a World War II Victory Ribbon. Thomas worked for Milton Machine Works and then went to work for and retired from Continental Can, Milton in 1980. He was a lifetime member of the Elks and Moose clubs of Milton and a 60 year member of the American Legion Post # 71. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, all kinds of vegetables and apple, peach and pear trees. In addition to his wife Mary, Thomas is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Thomas, Jr. “Terry” and Pauletta, of Ephrata one daughter and son-in-law; Kay and Gary McWilliams of West Chester, one stepdaughter; Betty Tiffany and her companion Sam Moyer of Milton, five grandchildren, one step grandchild and 18 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and first wife Cora, Thomas was preceded in death by four brothers; John, Paul, Fred and Bill and four sisters; Pearl, Mary, Edna Mae and Ann Louise. A public viewing will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2013 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton, PA 17847 followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Marc Zeisloft officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical Home Hospice, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837
