POTTSVILLE - Thomas Joseph Morgan, 87, of Pottsville died Saturday evening at his home. Born on July 30, 1921, in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Anna (Troy) Morgan. He was a 1939 graduate of Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport CT. He attended the University of Connecticut and the University of Colorado. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II. On September 22, 1945, he married the former Evelyn Dunn, who survives. Until retiring, he was employed by ALCOA. He was a member of the Church of Saint Patrick, Pottsville. He was a member of ALCOA's 25 year club, the past president of the Industrial Management Club of Schuylkill County and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving, in addition to his wife Evelyn of 63 years are a son Kevin, of Chesterfield, NH; a daughter Geraldine and her husband Walter Korenda, Reading, PA; a sister, Dorothy McLaughlin, of Palmer, MA; five grandchildren, Jill Sippos, Park City, UT, Leslie Korenda, Brooklyn, NY, Elizabeth Morgan, Sydney, Australia, Meredith Morgan, Boston, MA and Mark Morgan, Venice Beach, CA; a great granddaughter, Natalie Sippos, Park City, UT and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM from the Church of St. Patrick, 4th & Mahantongo St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, Wednesday morning from 8:45 - 9:45 AM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. Contributions can be made to St. Patrick's Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
