Thomas E. Spring

DOVER- Thomas E. Spring, 59, of Dover and Muncy died Thursday, December 15, 2011, at York Hospital.  He was the husband of Nanci (Yearick) Spring.  The couple celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on June 29th.   A Memorial Service will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2041 Route 442 Hwy., Muncy, PA, with a visitation from 10:30-11 a.m.  The Reverend Carla Volland and Paul Shaner will be co-officiating at the service. Flowers may be sent to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Inc., 557 E. Water Street in Hughesville.   Mr. Spring was born in Muncy, PA on December 15, 1952, a son of Dean and Frances (Dugan) Spring of Muncy, PA.  He retired as an Engineer after 35 years at Osram Sylvania and was currently contracting with Honeywell International.   Mr. Spring was a history and Civil War enthusiast.  He also enjoyed gardening and was an avid amateur vintner.    Mr. Spring leaves a son, James P. Spring of Dover; a brother, Rodney Spring of Muncy; and nieces and nephews.   Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, York County Division, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.  Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is handling the local arrangements.
