Thomas E. Schnars

NORTH BEND - Thomas E. Schnars, 87, of North Bend died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. He was born May 18, 1924 in Westport the son of the late Edward H. and Rachel (Clark) Schnars. He was married to the former Sarah W. Crouse on October 25, 1952. They celebrated 59 years of marriage together. Thomas retired as a machinist from the Pennsylvania Railroad after 25 years. He was also a church custodian at St. Joseph Church for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served in the Army during World War II and he also served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, two sons Edward T. (Billie) Schnars of McElhattan and Mark E. (Jody) Schnars of Howard also a daughter Shelley A. (Thomas) Regis of Leesport, PA, seven grandchildren Andrew, Rachel, Garrett, Nicole, Kayla, Colton and Gauge. He was preceded in death by two sisters Lolly Scrimshaw and Jane Boyer. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo with the Rev. Donald E. Boslett officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner.
