AVOCA- Thomas Connolly, 68, of Avoca, passed away Sunday at his home. Born in Minooka on April 18, 1941, he was a son of the late John and Kathryn (Kloss) Connolly. He was a 1959 graduate of Scranton Tech. Mr. Connolly was employed as a mechanic by Minooka Subaru for over 35 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Frances Shemanski; brothers John and Gerald Connolly. Surviving are his sons, Thomas Connolly and his wife, Alita, West Pittston; Brian Connolly and his wife, Debra, Avoca; daughters Lynn Zaleski, Avoca and Lee Ann Butch and her husband, Christopher, Old Forge; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Connolly, Scranton; several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 728 Main Street, Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca. The Reverend Phillip Sladicka will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Moosic. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
