YORK - Thomas A. Peters, 73, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. He was the companion of Eleanor Coxen of West York. Funeral services and burial will be private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born December 8, 1935 in York a son of the late Howard G. and Ella (Hoffmaster) Peters, he retired as a carpenter from Carpenters Local 191. He was a member of 12th Ward Democratic Club; Pleasureville American Legion, Post 799; White Rose VFW, Post 556; and Delphia Club. Mr. Peters is survived by a daughter, Robin B. and husband Ronald Leisenring of Dover; four sons, Thomas G. Peters of Red Lion, Brett A. Peters of York, and Brian K. Peters of Hellam, and Anthony D. and wife Carol Peters of Red Lion; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; six brothers, Howard Peters, Jr. of Brookhaven, Miss., Wilbert Peters of N. Ft. Myers, FL, Lavere Peters of Coudersport, Dale Peters and Clair Peters of York, and Charles Peters of Red Lion; four sisters, Rosella Peters of New Mexico, Glenda Myers of Corpus Christi, TX, Lois Smith of Red Lion, and Linda Looker of York. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Perry, and Jay Peters; and four sisters, Carrie Workinger, Lucille Wayne, Mary Leiphart, and Diana Peters.
