TROY- Theodore Lewis “Ted” Weaver, 81, of East Troy, PA went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Beverly (Van Noy) Weaver. The couple married November 24, 1955 and had 57 happy years together. Ted was born on October 17, 1931 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Rev. Franklin J. and Agnes (Richardson) Weaver. He was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy, Class of 1949, and a 1953 graduate of Pennsylvania Technical College with a degree in Metallurgy. Ted was a US Army veteran, serving his country in Korea. After his time in the service and college, Ted became a Metallurgist for Sylvania GTE in Towanda for 30 years until his retirement in 1986. He came out of retirement to take the job he truly loved, becoming business manager of Little Learners Daycare in Troy where all the children he so dearly loved would call him “Teddy Bear”. He retired from Little Learners in 1992. Ted was an over 60-year member of the East Troy United Methodist Church, and was a past member of the Troy Lions Club. He was also a life member of the Babylon Hunting Club, was a member of Case’s Bowling League, was a member of several metallurgical societies and was a holder of several patent awards. One of the joys in Ted’s life was the cabin he cherished on the hill in Troy Township where he spent many hours, and he was known to never be without his trusty flashlight, no matter where he went. Ted is survived by his loving wife Beverly, his children Leslee Renee Weaver Wagner of East Troy, and Bradley Duane Weaver of Alexandria, VA, his granddaughter Amy Elizabeth Wagner of Chicago, IL, his grandson who Grandpa called “My Main Man” because he took him to every dialysis treatment Shawn Daniel Wagner of Troy, his great granddaughter Lily Aurora Wagner of Troy, and his brother Franklin A. Sister-in-law Adrianne Van Noy of East Troy, his aunts Helen Dewey of Baltimore, MD and Audrey Shepard of Wellsboro, PA, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear neighbors, and his beloved cat Korky also survive him. His parents and his sister Pat Bennett preceded Ted in death. Following Ted’s wishes services will be private and at the convenience of his family with his pastor, Rev. Chris Nauta officiating and military rites given by the Troy Veterans Honor Squad. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
