Thelma Y. (Holloway) Jones

WILKES-BARRE-Thelma Yevon (Holloway) Jones, 64, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday morning at her home. Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 21, 1945, she was a daughter of the late George B., Sr. and Julia (Simpkins) Holloway. She was a graduate of G.A.R. High School. She was formerly employed by Kennecott Copper, New York and most recently at Penguin and Putman, Inc., Pittston Township. Thelma enjoyed cooking and doing arts and crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, George Jr, and Coley; sister, Sarah Holloway. Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Maurice E. Jones; brother, Warren Holloway, New York City; sisters, Maggie Walters, New York City; Hattie Carter and Mary Jane Holloway, both of Wilkes-Barre; Ruby Holloway, Mountain Top; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Homegoing services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, with the Reverend James Breese officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
