YORK-Thelma Rosemary (Enterline) Driscoll, 88, of Manchester Township died at 6:40 PM on December 31, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lee G. Driscoll who died March 28, 2012. Mrs. Driscoll was born in West York, the daughter of the late Samuel P. B. Enterline and Ellen (Klinedinst) Enterline. She graduated from West York High School, class of 1948, and was employed by Caterpillar Inc for 31 years prior to her early retirement in 1984 as Employee Benefits Supervisor. She was the first female at the York Caterpillar Plant promoted into supervision. She had been a member of the Professional Secretaries International for many years, having served in numerous offices, and had been selected as Secretary of the Year in 1969. She was a member of the Female Executive Association at the time of her retirement. Mrs. Driscoll served on the boards of directors of the local and regional American Heart Association, Health Resources Planning & Development (the 13-county Federal health systems agency), and was a corporate officer of the York County group which conducted the federally funded HMO feasibility study in the early 1980's. While employed she was a member of the York Area Chamber of Commerce and served as member and chair of the Health Services committee. She was a member of AARP Chapter #2322 (York East), and Chapter #3400 (York Springetts) having served both chapters as President and numerous other offices and chairmanships and was Editor of the newsletters of both chapters. She was a lifetime social member of the Vikings Club. She was past president, former newsletter editor and a member of the Caterpillar York Retirees Club (CYRC) and a past member of The Stepping Tones chorus, where she was known for her Betty Boop solo. A member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, she served on church council twice and its Executive Committee, was a past member of the Early Morning Choir, taught Sunday Church school in the Kindergarten and Primary departments, and served as chair and member of the Christian Education, Constitution and Evangelism committees. Active in volunteer work following her retirement, she was involved with the Volunteer Center of York County for many years, set up the Speakers Bureau of the United Way (used during the annual campaign), and volunteered at the Boy Scout office, was a reader for a brief period of time at the Blind Center radio network, assisted with mass mailings at the ARC and volunteered as needed at several other agencies. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers William, Thomas, and Robert Enterline, and sisters Mary Fregm and Theresa Waltemyer. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Home, 1551 Kenneth Road. In York, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Officiating at the service will be her pastor, The Reverend Darcy Reis.
