Thelma L. (Evans) Boyd

YORK-Thelma L. (Evans) Boyd, 90, of West Manchester Twp., died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Edward T. Boyd. Following cremation, Thelma’s ashes will be placed in a columbarium at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Boyd was born in New Rochelle, NY on June 26, 1924, the daughter of the late Patrick and Madaline (Murray) Evans. She worked as a clerk in many retail stores and enjoyed volunteering, especially helping the elderly when she resided in Florida. Along with her husband, she leaves four daughters, Maureen Boyd of York, Marian Vogel of Tom’s River, NJ, Margaret McDonald of Winter Park, FL, and Madelynne Bresnan of Hampton, VA; a son, Edward L. Boyd of Winter Spring, FL; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a sister, Patricia Govorko of Dover, DE.
