Terry Zeigler

Terry Lee Zeigler, 79, passed away on July 30, 2024, in his hometown of York, where he was born on October 26, 1944, he was a son of the late Georgianna (Craley) Zeigler.

After proudly serving in the United States Navy, Terry returned to York, where he became a familiar and friendly face at UPMC Memorial Hospital. His 30-plus years as a janitor were not merely about maintaining the facilities but about contributing to the health and well-being of both patients and staff through his hard work and dedication.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Amy Embich; his brother, Rodney Zeigler; and his sisters, Karen Rosengrant, Dawn Nepa, and Marian Smith. His life was enriched by the company of many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. Terry is preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Craley.

Terry loved spending time playing crossword puzzles and Scrabble, pursuits that reflected his love for words and his quick wit. Terry also found joy in the excitement of horse racing and could frequently be found at Penn National, cheering on his favorite contenders.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held 2PM on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Chaplain Ellen Doughty officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM before the service at the Funeral Home.
