Terry Lee Allison, 78, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth (Horst) Allison to whom he was married for 55 years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, June 01, 2024 at Aldersgate Church, 397 Tyler Run Rd, York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Jay Derk. A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00AM, Saturday at the church. Burial will be private. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
Born June 01, 1945 in York, he was the son of the late John F. and Mildred S. (Dentler) Allison. Mr. Allison graduated from Dallastown High School with the class of 1963 and completed his undergraduate studies at Elizabethtown College in 1967, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. His postgraduate education concluded in 1972 at Millersville University earning a Master’s Degree in Education.
Mr. Allison was employed with Dallastown High School as a math teacher for 40 years while concurrently working at Pennsylvania State University – York as an Instructor of Mathematics for 50 years.
A long-time and active member of Aldersgate Church, he also served as the church’s head usher. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons – Lodge #266 and Elizabethtown College Alumni Association (Emeritus).
In addition to his wife, Mr. Allison is also survived by one son, Douglas C. Allison of Itasca, IL; three grandchildren, Cavanaugh, Teigen and Aine Allison; one brother, John C. Allison of York and two nieces. He was preceded in death by one brother, Fred A. Allison.
