Teresa P. (Kokta) Maxwell

RED LION Teresa P. (Kokta) Maxwell, 83, of Red Lion and formerly of Baltimore, died Saturday evening, September 1, 2012 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Frank M. Maxwell with whom she celebrated a 58th wedding anniversary on May 9, 2012. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with the Rev. Fr. John A. McCloskey, OFM Cap officiating. Private burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. As a teenager, one of Teresa’s first jobs was working in candy store. She later worked in a shoe factory in Baltimore, which is where she met Frank and went on to work in the claims department of the Baltimore Credit Bureau. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dallastown; she loved owls and playing Bingo. In addition to her husband, Teresa leaves her step son, Bruce Maxwell of Aberdeen, MD; three sisters, Evelyn Burroughs of Baltimore, Eleanor D. Tress of Perry Hall, MD, and Rosalie N. Kokta of Red Lion; her nephew, Kenneth J. Kokta, Jr. and wife, Jennifer; and great nieces and nephew, Natalie, Hannah and Kenneth G. Kokta, along with numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son at birth and seven brothers and four sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N.
