Sylvia O. (Emig) Miller

YORK- Sylvia O. (Emig) Miller, 84, died on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at York Hospital.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Certified Celebrant Allison Duke officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

Born on July 8, 1938 in Hampton, she was a daughter of the late Robert F. and Helen E. (Fridinger) Emig. Sylvia held various positions at Harley Davidson for almost 40 years until her retirement in 2003.

Sylvia was a member of Windsor Church of God. She loved playing bingo, attending stock car races and watching NASCAR, football and baseball. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Sylvia is survived by two sons, Steven F. Smith and his wife, Katrina of Windsor and Kermit J. Smith of Felton; four grandchildren, Jason Smith, Derrick Smith, Savannah Smith and Brody Smith; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Connolly of Hanover and Rita Emig of Gettysburg. She was preceded in death by her son John L. Smith who died in 1980; one sister; and four brothers.
