Suzanne (Knapp) Martin

YORK-Suzanne (Knapp) Martin, 60, of West Manchester Township died at home Friday, April 20, 2012, from complications of MS. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, and daughter. She was born on July 28, 1951 in Amesbury, MA, the daughter of Cecelia (Jendrick) Maloney and the late Edward Knapp. Sue moved to Pennsylvania in 1973 to start a new life with her husband. She was the proverbial jack of all trades and put all of her heart and energy into every profession. Of all of her work related occupations, three stand out. She was an offset press operator at Colhub Printing in York. Later she became a group manager at the Bon Ton stores in both the North Mall and West Manchester Mall. Before becoming ill, she worked in decorating at York Wall Coverings. Sue will best be remembered as a true friend who displayed compassion to those whom she came into contact with. At Home, Sue was an excellent craftsperson who designed wreathes and craft items for all occasions. She is survived by her mother, her husband, Andrew, and her son, Christopher, all of York and a sister Peggy Wise of San Antonio, TX. She and Andrew had celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on November 23, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. Certified Celebrant Betty Frey will be officiating at the service.
