Susan Piccioni

POTTSVILLE - Susan Vitelli Piccioni, 98, formerly of Pottsville, died at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, where she had been a resident for four years. Born in Landingville on July 23, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Saliveria Vitelli. She was a 1929 graduate of Auburn High School. In 1930 she married Atilius Piccioni, who died in 1974. For 30 years Susan worked as a seamstress for Miss Pennsylvania. She was a member of the former St. Josephs church, Pottsville. Surviving Susan are: a son, Louis and his wife Karen Piccioni, Orwigsburg; three grand children, Daniel Griesbaum, Newtown, Michael Griesbaum, Pottsville, and Lee Piccioni, Severn, Md; a brother in law, Frank Piccioni, whom Susan raised; and nieces and nephews.. In addition to her parents and husband, Susan was preceded in death by: a daughter, Mary Jane Griesbaum in 2006; a great grandson, Cole Griesbaum in 1996; sisters, Mary Stutzman and Limba Yanes; and brothers, Dominic, Carmen, Angelo, Andrew and Louis Vitelli. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM from the Church of Saint Patrick. Family and friends may call on Friday morning from 8:45 9:45 at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville. Interment will private, held at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pottsville.
