Susan M. Scott

YORK – Susan Marie (Harling) Scott, 76, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at UPMC Memorial Hospital.

Born October 22, 1947 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. Harling and Grace M. (Haas) Harling.

For most of her working life, Susan was an accounting representative at Oakworks in Shrewsbury, where she retired after over 20 years. Outside of her working life, Sue enjoyed her role as Nana, watching her grandchildren play sports, country music and concerts, traveling, cruises, gardening, reading and especially family time. Socializing with past co workers and friends was one of her favorite things to do since her retirement.

Susan is survived by her two children, Matthew Scott and his wife Julie and Sonya McGuinness and her husband Mark; four grandchildren, Drew Scott and his wife Sarah, Ethan Scott, Brody McGuinness and Avery McGuinness; and three sisters, Carol Frigm and her husband Matt, LouAnne Fenstermacher and her husband Jeff, Robin Harling and her husband Pat Hanratty.

In honoring Susan’s final wishes, no formal funeral ceremonies will be observed. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., York, is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Red Cross located at 724 South George Street York, PA 17401.
